VSMM 2016: Proceedings available at IEEE Xplore

Known for developing a unique and now transdisciplinary approach, VSMM has become a bridge between technology, art, culture, history, science and engineering. VSMM 2016 was held for the first time in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia at Sunway University and organized by the Centre for Research Creation in Digital Media (CRCDM), the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science and Technology from October 17-21, 2016. By organizing the VSMM conference, Sunway University (SU) established its position as a forum for research in creative digital media arts and technology.

The theme for the 2016 conference was “Transdisciplinary – Transmedia – Transformations ” with a strong focus on research creation applications for virtual systems, multimedia, digital arts and technology and digital cultural heritage industries, and on the knowledge mobilization and the practical exhibition of such endeavours. The aim of this conference was to showcase and discuss fresh research and public engagement initiatives integral to all fields associated with virtual systems and multimedia, the founding pillars of VSMM. Keynote speakers, special sessions and panels combined with workshops and a cultural heritage exhibition made this South-East Asian edition particularly exciting.
