The competition is designed to serve as a platform for Malaysian undergraduates to enhance and apply their business knowledge and skills to real life business scenarios. Using business cases as a learning tool enables the local undergraduates to develop their analytical thinking, creativity, innovation and enhance their communication skills which are essential elements to increase their employability.
A total of 20 teams from 18 universities took part in the competition this year. The teams were assessed on their ability to undertake analysis on the key issues, evaluate feasible alternatives to the implementation and plan of actions as well as their ability in fielding the questions from the judges and their presentation form and style.
Our students from SUBS Silas Roberts, Nikolas Adiprasetya, Bernice Chia Shi Le and Darry Lim Boon Toong will be representing Malaysia at the HSBC/ Hong Kong University (HKU) Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2020 to be held in Beijing, China from 21 – 28 May 2020 and competing against students from other top universities from various countries. They received RM15,000 cash prize for the win.
Our University Team 2 - Rachel Tan, Khor Win Win, Carmen Chong and Chean Zi Yan secured 4th place and won the RM5,000.00 cash prize. The teams were mentored by David Chong from the Department of Management, SUBS.
Other runners-up were teams from Taylor’s University and Monash University.
