31 students have signed up for 12-months programme while the remaining 10 students will be on the 6-months programme. During their time at Sunway, the students will be undertaking the Intensive English Programme and later progressing to the School of Hospitality and Service Management’s International Hospitality Management programme.

Kyoto Tachibana University (KTU) has been our very good partner and they have continued to trust us with their students even during the last 2 years of the pandemic.

Even when they were not able to send their students physically to us, the KTU students were with us in our virtual classrooms, enrolled into the English for International Mobility (EIM) micro-credential programme.

This event is indeed a very meaningful one as we are able to welcome mobility students once again on campus. We have weathered through a very trying season the last 2 years, we have raised above these challenges. The arrival of KTU students signify that spring is finally here.

Prof. Sibrandes Poppema - President of Sunway University
Prof Poppema shared with the students on personal experience with learning in a diverse environment encouraging the students to embrace the new experience. He also hoped that the students will understand and apply the values of the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs and build an entrepreneurial mindset as these are key attributes of a Sunway Graduate.
