VU Student wins 2016/2017 MICPA Excellence Awards

The Victoria University Bachelor of Business programme at Sunway is proud to announce that Yap Yen Lee was awarded the winner of the 2016 MICPA Excellence Award for Best Accounting Graduate while Yeoh Shin Yie was awarded a Certificate of Meritorious Achievement in recognition of her outstanding academic performance at the recent 2016/2017 MICPA Excellence Awards Ceremony held on 2nd November 2017 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

This is the 2nd year in a row that VU has emerged as winners.  Last year Ong Lee Yan was selected as a winner for the MICPA Excellence Award and Ng Siew Fong and Lim Jing Kai were both awarded Certificates of Meritorious Achievement.

The objective of the Excellence Awards Ceremony is to honour and recognise students pursuing a degree in accountancy who have excelled in their academic performance as well as in extra-curricular activities, and who have demonstrated exemplary personal traits.  The Awards are also intended to inspire current and future accounting students to strive for excellence.

Launched in 1992, the Excellence Awards Ceremony represents part of the Institute’s continued commitment to promote accountancy as a career.

The selection criteria for nominated candidates encompasses good overall academic record in school and at tertiary level, a minimum CGPA of 3.5 for the Bachelor of Accountancy degree programme, active participation in extra-curricular activities, leadership qualities and exceptional achievements.

Congratulations and well done Yen Lee and Shin Yie.
