Student Leadership in the midst of a Pandemic
by: Bianca Lim Shyin Yii (CIMP Student President) and Pouria Tolouei (CIMP Student Vice President)
We, Bianca and Pouria, decided to run for President and Vice President after seeing how dull and repetitive student life had become during the ill-fated pandemic. Through the electoral process, we are beyond grateful that students and staff have given us the support and vote to be your student leaders in 2021.
Seeing friends and peers going through their college lives this way, we decided to step in with the aim of bringing students’ vibrant pre-university days back. Despite countless uncertainties and restrictions during this period, we both decided to join hands once more, after our leadership stint together in high school, to positively build a closer bond with the students of CIMP.
We are delighted to work with the many talented and enthusiastic members of the council to create an active and close-knit community. A community which helps to better support our fellow classmates and works to make this semester more exciting. We pledge to give our services selflessly in the best way possible, ensuring many engaging events for students to gain community service experiences, meet new people, and obtain new skills and interests. We, Bianca and Pouria, are particularly excited to orchestrate social events and opportunities for students to connect in one harmonious environment.
We are currently working on various events, such as CIMP Mingle Night, Games Day, Halloween events, and we are especially excited for our Community Service Initiative whereby we will show our appreciation toward the frontliners of Sunway Medical Center by writing letters and gifting them. We can’t wait for everything that the student council has planned for this academic semester!
