MUFY Food Bank 2021: Kita Jaga Kita

This initiative began as a response to the economic impact of the various COVID-19 Movement Control Orders, with hopes to especially reduce food security issues experienced by these families and people groups. MUFY was also spurred by the call - “Kita Jaga Kita”.

Furthermore, the MUFY Food Bank is an avenue for both MUFY students and staff, and any other interested parties to contribute and give back to society. Donors may choose to contribute in cash and/or kind. For donors wanting to donate in kind are provided a suggested list of items which include staples like rice, cooking oil, eggs, flour, biscuits and many more.
The MUFY Food Bank committee launched the first donation drive for this year in April 2021 and it was a joint effort with the MUFY Student Council. The committee was able to meet their target of benefitting 20 families under the B40 category by raising a total of RM4000 worth of cash and provisions.

In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021, committee members, MUFY Student Council representatives and MUFY student volunteers packed the provisions and distributed to the 20 families identified through a local school, SK Kampung Lindungan, Petaling Jaya on 9 May 2021.

MUFY would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the PIBG of SK Kampung Lindungan, Petaling Jaya for their collaborative efforts in making this charitable cause a success. A big “Thank You” also goes out to all those who contributed generously to this cause.

If anyone is interested to partner with the MUFY Food Bank committee, there will be another donation drive and distribution period in the second half of the year, 2021. For more information, contact Ms. Charity Yang at
